Localisation

If you have specific localisation requirements, you can use the parameters locale, market or currency to set specific values for your referral links.

tip

Skyscanner Recommendation: We strongly encourage you to provide the localisation parameters (locale, market, currency) to set specific values for your referral links. This allows you to control the language, market, and currency to optimise your users’ experience on the Skyscanner domain.

Market-Specific Product Mix: Setting the localisation parameters is important because Skyscanner’s offering differs from market to market, depending on our Supply Partners’ offerings—the mix of suppliers and even pricing can differ from one market to another. To create the best experience, we encourage you to match the Skyscanner market that you will send the customer to via the Referral Link with your customer’s home market. This will give you the best chance to show them the most accurate and comprehensive product offering (e.g., if your customer is from Spain, redirecting them to the Spanish Skyscanner market will be the best course of action).

No Localisation Parameters: Please note that in the absence of the localisation parameters, the default UK settings will be applied to the Skyscanner landing page, where the settings of en-GB for locale and the UK market will be applied. As a result, the returned URLs will direct the traveller to a page configured with these settings.
